Pregnant Woman Carried In Sling For 5 Kms Due To Lack Of Motorable Road


Malkangiri: Highlighting the shameful state of poor rustic foundation and medicinal services in Odisha, a pregnant lady was conveyed in a sling for about five kms after a rescue vehicle neglected to contact her town because of absence of motorable street. The occurrence was accounted for from Lachhamipur town under Gunthabeda panchayat in Malkangiri locale today.

According to reports, a lady of the town griped of work torment early morning today constraining her relatives to require an emergency vehicle. Be that as it may, because of absence of any motorable street to the town, the rescue vehicle couldn’t contact her.


With the assistance of an ASHA specialist and driver the emergency vehicle, relatives of the lady conveyed her for five kms up to Kanchrapara town where the rescue vehicle was sitting tight for her.

“It was unrealistic to acquire the lady the rescue vehicle because of terrible street condition. The Kanchrapara ASHA laborer helped us to achieve the town of the pregnant lady who was wreathing in outrageous work torment. Emergency vehicle staff, ASHA laborer and the lady’s relative together conveyed the pregnant lady in the sling and secured five kms separation to achieve the rescue vehicle,” said Pradeep Mandal, driver of the emergency vehicle.

“As the driver was unmindful of the course, I ran with the rescue vehicle staff to Lachhamipur town and conveyed the pregnant lady in a sling,” expressed Biraji Khilo, an ASHA laborer.

Afterward, the lady was admitted to the Chitrakonda clinic and her condition is expressed to be steady, sources said.
